BooksFlyer setup common FAQs

Is BooksFlyer for me?

BooksFlyer is a tool that executes rules based on certain conditions. Think of it as a virtual assistant for Amazon Ads with no intelligence of its own. In order for you to get the most out of this assistant, it is strongly recommended that:

  • You already know how to use Amazon Ads and have been running you campaigns for at least one month. Check the Good Practices post for advice and good resources for this.

  • Your book is marketable. If you are unsure, the following article will help you answer this question.

Why do I have campaigns missing in my tool?

We only work with enabled Sponsored Product campaigns. This means that if you have Sponsored Brand campaigns, or campaigns that are paused or archived, these will not reflect in our tool. However, all your enabled Sponsored Product campaigns should appear correctly in BooksFlyer.

My campaign data in Amazon ads is not exactly the same as on BooksFlyer

First of all, make sure you follow all the steps mentioned on the "Check your data" section in the following article. There can be a discrepancy with Amazon Advertising of up to 5%, and this is acceptable as per Amazon standards, as well as to execute rules based on data. If you see a discrepancy higher than this on any of the columns in the campaigns table, do let me know at sara@booksflyer.com.

What is the window of time you use to apply the rules?

We use the last 60 days of data without including the current date, and this is what we will download from your account. Amazon Advertising shows estimates of sales/reads that are very close to the real picture, but sometimes they can be added after they have happened — you may call these anomalies.

60 days is a big enough window of time that will ensure that anomalies are reduced to a minimum, yet recent enough that it will provide us more accurate data of where the target is going. That is also why we do not save more data than this, and why you will see the rest of the days greyed out.

The rules have been executed from the tool. Why are the changes not showing on Amazon ads?

Usually, the changes take 5 minutes and up to maximum of 15 minutes to apply to Amazon Advertising. If after this time you still have not noticed any changes let me know at sara@booksflyer.com.

Why can I not select the current date?

Amazon ads data is only available via API after 12 hours in the case of impressions and clicks, and after 24 hours in the case of conversions (sales or reads). So we cannot have this data until the day after.

Why is my bidding rules history missing some campaigns?

We only show the modifications made on up to 100,000 targets per Booksflyer account. If you have more active targets than this, and there is any specific bid modification you would like to see, feel free to reach me out at sara@booksflyer.com, and let me know the profile, date of execution, campaign, ad group and target.

BooksFlyer account common FAQs

How can I change my password?

Click on the account icon in the top right corner of the app — next to the profile selection. Once there, click on Account Management. You will see it immediately.

Where can I modify my payment details and see my bidding history?

In the Account Management section, you will be able to see the plan you are enrolled in, and beneath it you will find the Billing Details block. If you click on the Payments Portal button, it will take you to a Stripe Portal where it asks you to log in via email for security purposes. Stripe will send you a unique link so that you can access and modify your payment details, as well as see your invoice history. In addition to this, you will receive an invoice in your inbox every month.

How can I cancel my subscription?

You may do so from the Account Management section, which you may find by clicking in the Account icon, in the upper right corner of the app. After cancelling your account, you can still use the tool for the rest of the paid month. Once the paid month is over, you will not be able to continue using the tool unless you enroll in a plan.
